About Me
I’ve been meditating for 7 years.
After an unexpectedly profound meditative experience 2,5 years ago, my spiritual journey commenced in earnest and I started practicing and studying under the Finnish Dharma teacher Santtu Heikkinen (https://www.niccolaggi.com/), a student of the late Culadasa, author of the best-selling meditation manual “The Mind Illuminated” (TMI) and founder of Dharma Treasure.
Santtu trained me in Culadasa’s detailed 10-stage “Elephant Path” method of concentration development and authorized me to teach in 2023.
I've practiced a range of techniques primarily in the Theravada tradition, including strict Mahasi noting, more free-style Vipassana, Shamatha and the Jhanas in the style of TMI and Leigh Brasington/Ayya Khema's lineage, fire kasina in the style popularized by Daniel Ingram (firekasina.org/fire-kasina-book) and the brahma viharas of metta, mudita, karuna and upekkha.
By now I've maintained a dedicated daily meditation practice for many years and spent over three months in total on intensive meditation retreats, including 2x 3-week long retreats on fire kasina.
More recently, my practice interests and underlying philosophy have thoroughly shifted from the Theravada to the Mahayana path and I've been initiated into the Tibetan Buddhist Vajrayana and received various empowerments and instructions from a number of Lamas.
Those practices I cannot teach as I haven't yet sufficiently mastered any of them.
